Hotel Porta do Sol Conference & SPA

The staff is extremely kind and accommodating, everyone was exceptional. The room had a gorgeous view of the sunset over the lake and the location was absolutely ideal- I was cycling the Camino from Porto to Santiago and this was one of my favorite accommodations along the way. I got a boat to take me and my bike across to Spain and it could not have been more convenient from the hotel, and only €6. The spa was also lovely and I very much appreciated that they accommodated me on a Monday morning before I had to continue my Camino, and let me check out a little later to accommodate my massage. Location was good for us as it was on Camino, otherwise it is a bit of a walk to the town. Beds were comfortable and room in general was clean and modern. Helpful staff. Varied breakfast.

The room, restaurant, the location and hotel staff

Nice hotel with very good facilities. Great views to the river from the restaurant and breakfast room. Rooms and beds are very comfortable. The swimming pool, very important in the windy days, is next to the bar and it has an area for lunch. The spa was very enjoyable, it was included in the price of the room. Nice walk along the river to Caminha village.

The location is excellent for access to Caminha central area. Being slightly south of the center area provides a quiet, comfortable base for visiting Caminha. The hotel has a small fitness room with great cardio machines, great dumbbells, adjustable bench and a multi-station machine. I found the fitness adequate for a basic workout. The room was without question very nice with a view of the pool area and the hills behind. The breakfast met my needs with multiple coffee/espresso options, assorted pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt and other traditional breakfast items. Again, the views of the waterfront were quite nice.
